Balanced Man Scholarship
Kansas Eta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity is offering four Balanced Man Scholarships to outstanding freshman males attending Wichita State next fall. We are offering these scholarships to the incoming male students who embody the principles of the Balanced Man. Our aim is to recognize and reward men who strive to achieve balance, and all-around excellence, as we believe it to be essential in achieving a satisfying college experience and life. To qualify, applicants must be attending Wichita State University in the fall of 2016 and complete and return the enclosed application, along with a copy of their official high school transcript by July 15, 2017.

Brother Mentor Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an upperclassmen who has shown exemplary leadership through academics, service and mentored those around him. To qualify member must be a Junior or Senior.

Soice Family Leadership Scholarship
The Soice Family wanted to leave their legacy by rewarding a member who has demonstrated leadership by holding the position of President during the term in which the scholarship is granted.

Nathan B. Forrest Memorial Scholarship
Mr. Nathan Forrest’s love for flying started at infancy and continued through his life. At 14, he flew his first solo flight in a glider and went on to receive all his licenses at the minimum age requirements. Mr. Forrest had the honor of being a member of the ground support team with the World Aerobatic Team. They competed in Slovakia, France and Oklahoma City. At 17, he won second place in an aerobatic contest. In 2003, he earned a degree in aerospace engineering from WSU.
On July 25, 2006, Mr. Forrest died during a test flight for Spectrum Aeronautical. He was 25 years old. Mr. Forrest was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and supported himself as a flight instructor while in college. He was gallant, incorruptible, admired and respected.
The Nathan B. Forrest Memorial Scholarship was created by family, friends and Sigmna Phi Epsilon fraternity brothers to continue his contribution to engineering and the future of aviation.
Preference is given to a brother in Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Zach's Wishes for Miracles Scholarship
This scholarship was created in memory of SigEp member Zach Mesch who passed away from Leukemia in 2009. Afterwards his family started Zach's Wishes for Miracles which funds a college age student with cancer a wish, similar to the Make a Wish Foundation. They are also able to fund two scholarships for a SigEp and a general Wichita State student. This scholarship is meant for outstanding students who are living out the legacy that Zach left behind. Through service, leadership and unconditional brotherly love, Zach left behind a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.

Denis H. Dieker Scholarship
This scholarship is being awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior who has shown strong support and leadership in SigEp. Financial need will be taken into consideration and the member must live in the SigEp house to receive this scholarship.

Thomas O. Hicks Scholarship
The Thomas O. Hicks Scholarship is awarded to a junior member who has significantly improved grades from freshman year and has shown outstanding characteristics in service and leadership.

Study Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a member who is planning on studying abroad. Member has to be active in the chapter and shown great interest in better themselves through the study abroad program at Wichita State.
